The first verse of the very first chapter of the Bhagavad Gita that I learnt..


षोदशोध्याहः
ṣodaśoadhyāhaḥ

ष्रिमद्बगवनुवच
ṣrimadbagavanuvaca

अभयम् सत्वसम्श्रुथिग्ननयोगव्यवस्थिहि।
धनम् धमश्च यग्नसच स्वाध्यय स्थपार्जवम्।

abhayam satvasamśruthignanayogavyavasthihi
dhanam dhamaśca yagnasaca svādhyaya sthapārjavam

The blessed Lord said:

Fearlessness, cleanness of life, stedfastness in the Yoga of wisdom, almsgiving, self retraint and sacrifice and study of the Scriptures, austerity and straightforwardness....
